How to spot a fake charger or cable in Pakistan
Copies of popular chargers and cables are easy to find in every market. Some work; many charge slowly, run hot, or leave out the safety parts that protect your phone. These six checks take a minute and tell you what you are holding.
1. Read the output label
Every real charger prints its output. A fast charger lists more than one voltage, because fast charging works by raising it: the WisdomUp OCD-24, a 20W USB-C Power Delivery (PD) charger, lists 5V 3A · 9V 2.22A · 12V 1.67A. A charger that says “fast” but lists only 5V cannot fast-charge.
2. Look for the marks and the model number
Check for certification marks such as CE and RoHS and a model number on the charger that matches the box. A blank charger or a box with no model is a warning sign.
3. Watch what your phone says
Plug in and look at the lock screen. Android phones usually show “Fast charging” or “Charging rapidly”. An iPhone 8 or later on a 20W PD charger gets to about 50% in roughly 30 minutes. If the phone shows plain “Charging” on a charger sold as fast, something in the chain — charger or cable — is not doing its job.
4. Feel the heat
A charger gets warm while it works. Too hot to hold, a buzzing sound or a burning smell means stop using it at once. Real chargers list protection against over-current, over-voltage, short circuits and overheating — the OCD-23 and OCD-24 both do.
5. Check the cable too
The cable decides the speed as much as the charger. For fast charging use USB-C to USB-C, or USB-C to Lightning for iPhone 8–14, rated 3A or more. Thin, flimsy cables with loose plugs heat up and slow down.
6. Buy where you can return it
A seller that offers a warranty and a return window is the simplest protection of all. Every WisdomUp order has a 7-day money-back guarantee and can be paid with Cash on Delivery.

Questions people ask
How can I tell if my charger is original?
Check that the output label lists the voltages and currents it claims (a 20W PD charger lists 9V 2.22A), that it carries CE and RoHS marks and a model number matching its box, and that your phone shows fast charging when it is plugged in.
Is it dangerous to use a fake charger?
It can be. Cheap copies often skip the protection circuits (over-current, over-voltage, short-circuit, overheating) that stop a charger from overheating or damaging a phone. Stop using any charger that gets too hot to hold, buzzes or smells.
Why does my phone charge slowly with a new cable?
A cable that is not rated for fast charging, or a USB-A cable on a phone that fast-charges over USB-C, charges at normal speed. For fast charging, use a USB-C to USB-C (or USB-C to Lightning for iPhone 8–14) cable rated 3A or more.
Do WisdomUp chargers come with a cable?
Yes. The OCD-24 20W PD charger and the OCD-23 18W QC 3.0 charger each come with a cable, and both list over-current, over-voltage, short-circuit and overheating protection.
